Attention all area middle & high school faculty, staff and students! The City of Las Cruces is proud to announce the 2013 CLC-TV Student Video PSA Contest. CLC-TV is calling on all middle & high school students to enter a 30-second public service announcement (PSA). There is no fee to enter and this year the overall winner(s) get a brand-new iPod Nano.
The theme of this year’s contest is “Be Safe!” The PSA should be a message to kids and/or adults on being safe either at home, at school or on the road. Topics include but not limited to: fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, security alarms, knowing what to do in case of an emergency, gun safety, texting & driving, obeying traffic laws, etc. Go to CLCTV.com/contest for more information.
Judges with professional experience in television and video production will score and provide feedback and suggestions for all participants. Scoring will be based on content and broadcast quality (see broadcast quality criteria). Entries will not compete against each other, rather each entry is judged individually on its own merit against a standard of excellence. There will be Silver winners and Gold winners, with Gold being the highest honor.
The deadline to submit entries is Monday, April 15, 2013. Winners will receive their awards and be recognized at a City Council meeting by the Mayor and City Council on May 6, 2013. The meeting will be televised live on CLC-TV and streamed live on CLCTV.com. Winning PSA’s will be televised on CLC-TV Cable Channel 20 and/or CLCTV.com for up to one year.
The CLC-TV Student Video PSA Contest submission process in completely paperless. Entry forms will be filled out online and students must post their videos to YouTube and provide a link on the entry form. The entry form will be available at CLCTV.com
NEW THIS YEAR
This year all gold winning videos will be placed on CLCTV.com and the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video PSA. The student(s) getting the most votes on their PSA will win a brand-new iPod Nano.
